BC Library Conference 2015

BCLA Sections, Committees & Interest Groups

BCLA Sections, Committes, and Interest Groups (SCIG’s) have the opportunity to showcase their divisions’ most current thinking and debate on overarching library issues at the BC Library Conference. Tables in the foyer of the Trade Show are available for no cost. SCIG’s must provide their own SCIG members for manning the tables during the trade show hours. These volunteers must be registered for the conference for the day they are attending – the cost for registration is not provided by BCLA. These SCIG members can attend sessions but we ask that they be at the table during the breaks. There will be no security so valuables cannot be left on the table.

Wednesday, May 20th
3:00 – 6:00 pm – Table Setup
7:00 – 9:00 pm – Trade Show Open for President’s Reception

Thursday, May 21st
10:30 am – 5:15 pm: Trade Show Open
5:15 – 8:15 pm: Table Tear Down (all items must be removed by the group as there is no on site storage)

Break times in the exhibits:

10:30 – 11:15 am: Coffee Break
12:00 – 1:30 pm: Lunch
2:45 – 3:15 pm: Ice Cream Break
4:00 – 5:15 pm: Afternoon Appies

SCIG’s also have the opportunity to hold a meeting during the conference if they wish. The available times for meetings are:

Thursday, 8:00 – 9:00 am
Friday, 8:00 – 8:45 am
Friday, 12:15 – 1:15 pm
Friday, 4:30 – 5:30 pm

Due to the schedule restrictions, no alternate times are available for on site meetings.

FNIG – Friday, 4:45 pm, located in Richmond C Regretfully, the FNIG meeting has been postponed. Contact if you would like to hear about the next meeting. Non-lower mainland participants are encouraged to get in touch if you would like to attend by phone, Skype, or video conference.
