9:00 am to 3:30 pm session: Cataloguing Non-Print Materials in RDA
This update to a workshop originally presented at the 2014 Canadian Library Association annual meeting will include updates to RDA since then, as well as recently issued "best practices" guidelines from organizations such as the Music Library Association (MLA) and Online Audiovisual Catalogers, Inc. (OLAC). A basic knowledge of RDA is highly recommended for attendees.
Cost: BCLA / BCLTA / HLABC Member: $160, Non-member: $200
1 to 3 pm session: Why Accessible Library Service Matters in Public Libraries
Description: Let’s talk about why accessibility matters, and why we’re all hearing so much more about it than we ever have before. Along with some special guests, we’ll load public library staff up with resources for expanding accessible library service, talk about changes we see coming, and make the most of the time we have in a room together. We’ll round out our session with a fun, but brief, technology demonstration from which we guarantee you’ll learn something you didn’t know before.
Cost: BCLA / BCLTA / HLABC Member: $50, Non-member: $80
