Campbell was an early organizer of the Vancouver Regional FreeNet, a strong policy advocate, and a leader in initiating the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.librariesincommunities.ca\" target=\"_blank\">Working Together Project<\/a>, which set the stage for community-led librarianship in Canada. As his former colleague Barbara Jo May explained, &#8220;I think the BC and Canadian library landscapes would look very different, with less attention paid to social justice, if Brian hadn\u2019t rolled up his sleeves and done all his work.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This issue of <em>BCLA Perspectives<\/em> is dedicated to Campbell&#8217;s memory and to the impact he made on libraries.
