Looking for new members!

YAACS (Young Adult And Children’s Services) has a number of positions vacant. Serving on committees is a great way to stretch yourself professionally and looks great on resumes!

All positions require a BCLA membership, which is priced on a sliding scale according to self-reported annual income. If the membership fee is a barrier for you, please reach out. There is no job classification requirement, other than that you work in library services and work with youth and/or children in that role. In other words, you don’t need to be a librarian.

  • Incoming President: This is a 3 year commitment as you are onboarding to become next year’s President. After that, you serve as Past President whose job it is to help the President and Vice President.
  • Secretary: 1 year commitment. Takes minutes and manages documentation.
  • Continuing Education Coordinator – Lower Mainland – Teens: 1 year commitment. Alongside other Continuing Ed Coordinators, organise 2-4 professional development events over the year.
