Young Adult and Children’s Services Section (YAACS)

Welcome to the Young Adult and Children’s Services Section (YAACS)!

YAACS (Young Adults and Children’s Services) is a section of the British Columbia Library Association. Our purpose is to support library staff in the provision of high-quality library services to children, youth, and families in BC. Our members include librarians, teacher-librarians, students, and other library workers interested in services to youth in British Columbia.

 

Attend a Meetings:

YAACS meets on the last Wednesday of the month from 12:00pm to 1:00pm. Anyone interested in youth services are welcome to attend. Meeting links will be shared on the forum in the weeks leading up to the meeting.

  • June 26 – Readers Advisory
  • July 31 – Accessible programming with guest speaker Ginny Dunnill
  • August 28 – Collaborating with teacher with guest speaker

 

Youth Services Institute

The Youth Services Institute is an annual day of professional development organized by the Young Adult and Children’s Services Section of BCLA. Open to anyone interested in library services for children, teens, and families.
