Yes – note that when you post or reply to a forum that you are not subscribed to, you will automatically be subscribed to that topic/thread so you can receive any updates. If you are regularly posting to any forum, consider subscribing.

How do I manage my forum notifications?

Branches: BCLA’s Online Forum allows you to choose how you would like to be notified about updates and conversations taking place in the forums you are subscribed to. You can:

  1. subscribe to a forum and receive an email every time someone posts in that forum.
  2. subscribe to a specific topic/thread in a forum and receive an email every time someone posts in that thread only .(This is especially useful if you’re interested in a conversation in another forum but don’t want to subscribe to that whole forum).

By default, you will receive an email for every new post/reply in forums to which you are subscribed, unless you set up a consolidated digest:

  1. Log in
  2. Go to Account > Forum Profile.
  3. Select Manage Profile & Digest Settings.

Why were the listservs replaced?

BCLA’s listserv technology was becoming increasingly unreliable, making it time intensive and expensive to maintain. BCLA chose to replace it with Branches: BCLA’s Online Forum, which is more sustainable and dependable. You’ll find a forum for each of the groups previously on the listservs. Come join the conversation!

Will the listservs still be available?

The listservs will no longer accept new posts. However, you can access the archives of the listservs you were subscribed to before the transition using your SYMPA credentials.
