Who can become a BCLA Member?

 

All BCLA memberships are for individuals and organizations interested in advancing the purposes and supporting the activities of the Society. Find out more about the work we are doing to advance our shared priorities and values.

Which type of Membership is right for me?

Individual

Student/New Grad

Institutional

Supporting

Individuals 18+ engaged in library, archival or information work (including retirees), current or past member of a library board

Individuals 16+ enrolled in a recognized program in library, information or archival studies

OR

Individuals who have graduated from a recognized program in library, information or archival studies in the last 12 months

BC library or library school

OR

library or archival association with whom BCLA exchanges a reciprocal membership

Individuals 19+ or Organizations, who don't fall under the other Membership Types

COST/PRICING: Based on current income. Discounts for board members, retirees, unemployed

COST/PRICING: Free for students, and new graduates within the last 12 months

COST/PRICING: Based upon your library’s annual operating budget

COST/PRICING: $125 for Supporting

$225 for Enhanced Supporting

What are my Responsibilities as a Member?

Every Member will, at all times, uphold the Associations’ constitution and comply with the bylaws, regulations and policies; abide by the Association’ codes of conduct and ethics; further and not hinder the purposes, aims and objectives of the Association.

Forum access is not a membership; it allows you to read and participate in BCLA discussion and interest groups.
