Introducing new BCLA UX Interest Group

On behalf of the BCLA Board, I’m pleased to introduce the newest BCLA interest group: The UX Interest Group! User experience (UX) refers to an approach to improving every interaction with an organization and its services. In libraries, this can apply to web infrastructure, accessing resources and collections, service provision, physical spaces, and more.

The UX Interest Group was formed to share knowledge and strategies and connect on issues related to UX in libraries. Activities will be relevant to BC libraries of different sizes, types, and communities. BCLA membership is not required to participate.

Find out more about this new group by reading their terms of reference, checking out their BCLA subsite, and subscribe to the UX Interest Group forum to get updates and join the conversation.

Interest groups, sections, and committees are an important part of BCLA. They provide opportunities to build your professional network, complement your experiences in your work environment, and add to the diversity and strength of the Association.

Thank you to the UX Interest Group co-chairs for creating this new group, and to everyone who participates in BCLA interest groups, sections, and committees.

For questions about the new group, please contact the co-chairs: Janis McKenzie (SFU Library) and Mark Goodwin (UBC Library).

For questions about creating a new interest group, please contact Rina Hadziev, BCLA Executive Director.

With thanks,
Suzanne Rackover, BCLA President
