IT in Libraries pre-conference

2023 Theme: Never Pass Up a Good Crisis

 

This pre-conference will include short presentations and many opportunities to collaborate and learn from colleagues through a number of breakout group discussions. We hope to see IT staff who work with libraries, library staff who work with systems and technology, and all those interested in library technology.

The program features two keynotes speakers:

  • oline Tess, BC Deputy Chief Privacy Commissioner
  • Igor from X10 on the Mind of the hacker

As well as lightning talks from community experts on:

  • Online Patron Validation with BC Services Card
  • Tech Training: How Two Libraries Support Staff Learning Throughout the Library
  • Protect your accounts online by not knowing your passwords!

Breakout topics will include: security, privacy and data, changing expectations of IT departments, ransomware, recruitment and retention, network segmentation, and more!
