Title: Braille Printing: Accessible University Library Services
Description: Blind and visually impaired students face many barriers to postsecondary education. Accessing documents in the format they need shouldn’t be one of them. Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) is taking steps to reduce these barriers, offering a self-serve Braille printer which students and employees can access.
Students and faculty can now print off their own personal documents as well as things such as lecture notes, course syllabus, assignment outlines, or group work in Braille. In addition, this service is open to all, including community members and those who support Braille users. KPU Library is committed to reducing barriers and providing equitable service and the Braille printer is one step in that direction. Learn more about the project’s inception, implementation, marketing and more from Accessibility Librarians Kelsey Chaban and Rachel Chong.
