On behalf of the BCLA Board, I’m pleased to introduce the BCLA Accessibility Interest Group! This group was inactive, but Rachel Chong has stepped forward to restart it.
The Accessibility Interest Group exists to share knowledge, strategies and connect on issues related to accessibility in libraries. They are actively looking for interested members. They specifically invite people with lived experience to participate in this interest group and related meetings, and acknowledge the value of lived experience. No BCLA membership is required to participate, and people from all types of libraries are welcome.
Find out more about this new group by reading their terms of reference, checking out their BCLA subsite, and subscribe to the Accessibility Interest Group forum to get updates and join the conversation.
Interest groups, sections, and committees are a vital part of BCLA. They provide opportunities to build your professional network, complementing experiences in the work environment, and add to the diversity and strength of the Association.
Thank you to Rachel for stepping up to lead this group, and to everyone who participates in BCLA interest groups, sections, and committees.
For questions about creating a new interest group or restarting an inactive one, please contact Rina Hadziev, BCLA Executive Director.
With thanks,
Suzanne Rackover, BCLA President
