Accessible Job Interview in the Library Workplace Toolkit

BCLA is pleased to announce the release of a new toolkit: Accessible Job Interviews in the Library Workplace. This toolkit will help guide libraries in implementing more inclusive hiring practices for autistic library employees.

The toolkit is practical and scalable, with actions that can be used by any library to reduce barriers for autistic candidates. We encourage you to explore the toolkit and consider how you can take action to make your interview processes more accessible.

This toolkit was created by Celia Hagey as part of her MLIS degree; Celia was inspired by the EDI Strategies in Recruitment Toolkit by Jessica Whu Lee. Celia will be offering a webinar on February 6 from 2-3pm to introduce the toolkit and talk about the process of creating it, the underpinning research, and the recommended actions for employers and candidates.

We want to express our thanks to Celia for creating this valuable and timely resource for the library sector, and we look forward to seeing it implemented in BC libraries!

Register for the webinar, and check out the Accessible Job Interview in the Library Workplace Toolkit in the Resources>Toolkits section of the BCLA website.
