Last fall many of you completed the Professional Learning Assessment Survey that was distributed on BCLA list servs. Thank you for contributing to this research. It’s when we hear directly from you that all organizations serving libraries and library staff can work to meet the needs of our members. The information collected and analysed in the Professional Learning Assessment Project is meant to help the work of all BC library organizations. With this in mind the final report from the survey can be found HERE.

The funding to prepare the survey and analyse the results was from the Ministry of Education, Libraries Branch. BCLA gratefully acknowledges the financial support of the Province of British Columbia through the Ministry of Education and would like to thank the Ministry for the opportunity to do this important work.

BCLA would also like to thank Pia Russell and Todd Milford for the excellent work they did designing the survey and analysing the large number of responses we received. Without their skill and experience in designing surveys and analysing data we would not have been able to mount this survey, let alone understand the results!

We hope the survey results will support new and traditional directions for professional development and will, ultimately, result in an even stronger group of library workers across the province.

Thank you to all of you who responded to the survey!
