AI and Libraries with Fiona O’Connor

Description: In this session called “AI and Libraries: Shaping the Future of Services,” Fiona O’Connor (she/her), Senior Services Specialist in Digital Initiatives from Toronto Public Library will explore how AI is transforming library services and programs. Discover how TPL has integrated AI into its program offerings and examined staff use of AI in their roles. Learn about strategies for advancing AI education and literacy while understanding the potential concerns of AI.

Who should attend: All library workers welcome, although session has a public library focus

Presenter: Fiona earned her Master’s in Library Science from the University of Western Ontario in 2011. Since then, she has held multiple roles within the Toronto Public Library, including Digital Innovation Librarian, Branch Head, and Senior Services Specialist in the Digital Innovation Hubs. In her current role as Senior Services Specialist in Digital Literacy Initiatives, she leads the development and evaluation of programs, services, staff training, and partnerships, focusing on emerging technologies.
