You will leave the presentation with the courage to begin your own planning, ensuring your library’s continuous presence as a vital hub of information support if a disaster happens in your community.

Presenters: Melanie Reaveley and Kaitlyn Vecchio

Melanie Reaveley is the ED for the Kootenay Library Federation and in 2023, completed UVIC’s Emergency Management for Organizational Continuity program. She took her BA in Geography before completing the Master of Archival Studies and MLIS programs. Melanie has worked in and for regional and federated public libraries for over 20 years.

Kaitlyn Veccio is a Librarian with the College of New Caledonia. She is the former Director for the Northwest Library Federation, as well as the Literacy Outreach Coordinator for Literacy Prince George. Kaitlyn obtained her Bachelors Degree in Sociology, Master of Library and Information Science, and also completed the Emergency Management for Organizational Continuity program through the University of Victoria.
