Description: Calling all facilitators! Whether you are engaging your communities in conversation, teaching a course, leading a meeting, or seeking to bring commitment and clarity to a team, facilitation techniques can help. During this highly interactive virtual session, you will learn and practice two facilitation techniques. These approaches breathe new energy into group interactions, help uncover unheard perspectives and ideas, and ensure that everyone’s voice is heard. This is your opportunity to add new tools to your toolkit which can be used in person or online. Seasoned pros and absolute beginners welcome — bring your curiosity and energy!

Please note: this session will take place virtually and will feature different exercises than at the 2024 BC Library Conference. Here is the PowerPoint presentation for reference.

Learning objectives:

• Participants learn about the value of facilitation in a variety of situations

• Attendees learn two new facilitation techniques

• Participants will practice each new facilitation technique in a virtual environment

• Participants will make connections with library workers in other institutions

When: Thursday, September 12th at 2pm-3:30pm on Zoom

Who should attend: Anyone in the library community who is a meeting or team facilitator. “Seasoned pros and absolute beginners welcome – bring your curiosity and energy!”
