Reconciliation Training

Len Pierre, a Coast Salish educator from Katzie First Nation was a keynote speaker from the 2023 BC Library Conference. He offered a half-day workshop (3.5 hours) called “Indigenous Allyship and Anti-Racism” on Thursday, April 4th over Zoom. Len explains that, “Being an ally has nothing to do with being a good person. It’s an active state of reconciliation, social justice, cultural advocacy, Indigenous equity, and decolonial processes,” and this training will provide tools for being an ally, rooted in action.

A recording of the session is available on BCLA’s Vimeo account
