The 2024 BC Library Conference is a great opportunity to volunteer and get event experience, with the bonus of attending conference sessions for free! Don’t miss the chance to meet new people, network with the library community, catch up with old friends, and contribute to your Association. If you are interested in volunteering and available April 24 or 25, 2024, we are excited to hear from you. Brief descriptions of this year’s volunteer positions listed below (Read a more detailed description of the opportunities available.)
Registration Desk (4-5 hour shift)
Greet delegates, answer questions/inquiries; high level of customer service. Registration fee for one day covered by BCLA: volunteer for half-day; spend rest of same day attending sessions.
Directional Volunteer (4-5 hour shift)
Greet delegates, ensure all have name tags, provide directions as needed; high level of customer service. Registration fee for one day covered by BCLA: volunteer for half-day; spend rest of same day attending sessions.
Office Assistant (4-5 hour shift)
Provide general office support, greet exhibitors, answer questions/inquiries; high level of customer service. Registration fee for one day covered by BCLA: volunteer for half-day; spend rest of same day attending sessions.
Session Convenor (full-day Wed or Thu, 8:15-4:15 PM, with breaks)
Welcome session attendees, prepare & deliver speaker introduction(s), thank Sponsors, make announcements, moderate Q&A. Registration fee for full conference covered by BCLA: register for full conference, convene one day and attend sessions on day not convening.
To apply for a position please complete the volunteer application form before midnight on Thursday, February 22, 2024.
We will contact volunteers by March 1, 2024, to confirm opportunities and schedule shifts.
