Len Pierre, a Coast Salish educator from Katzie First Nation was a keynote speaker from the 2023 BC Library Conference. He is offering a half-day workshop (3.5 hours) called “Indigenous Allyship and Anti-Racism” on Thursday, April 4th at 1pm-4:30pm over Zoom. Register for this workshop today!

Len explains that “Being an ally has nothing to do with being a good person. It’s an active state of reconciliation, social justice, cultural advocacy, Indigenous equity, and decolonial processes,” and this training will provide tools for being an ally, rooted in action.

All BC library workers are invited to attend this virtual, half-day training, which is free-of-charge as part of BCLA’s commitment to anti-racism. If you have any accessibility needs to attend this training, please contact Natalie Porter, BCLA Professional Development Coordinator in advance and BCLA will do our best to support you. Please note that the workshop slides have been provided.
