Conference Virtual Reboot Update!

For the “Conference Virtual Reboot Series” we’ve been inviting a selection of presenters to replicate or reimagine their BC Library Conference session as a webinar. After announcing the Facilitation Firestarter workshop with Anne O’Shea (Sept. 12), we’ve added two more!

Committing to Community Reconcili-Action (Sept. 18 at 2pm) with Amelia Boissoneau, Caroline Dick and Karen Hudson. Participants will learn more about hiring Indigenous staff, decolonizing collections, strategic plans, an Indigenous mural and interpretive panel, new Indigenous Learning Areas, and current programming and partnerships.

Community Conversations: Creating a Safe Space for Discussion about the Toxic Drug Crisis (Sept. 25 at 3pm) with Joëlle Samson, who will highlight a series of six weekly conversation panels led by service providers working in the community centering on the toxic drug crisis with The Campbell River Library and the Campbell River Community Action Team that started in Fall 2023. The panel series was created to help dispel myths about the toxic drug crisis that perpetuate in the community.

Register today for these sessions, and anticipate more offerings throughout the upcoming year.
