Title: Increasing Climate Literacy in Your Community
Description: Public libraries play a key role in providing concerned citizens with the knowledge and tools they need to collectively navigate the challenge of our changing climate. The science is clear, we have all the solutions we need, we just need to implement them. Focusing on known and proven solutions to the climate crisis instills hope, inspiring citizens to take action and build resilient communities and a better future for British Columbia and the world.
If you are interested in reducing climate anxiety and increasing climate action in your community, this session is for you. We will demonstrate our approach to offering climate solutions workshops, and we will also present perspectives from librarians who have hosted our events and participants who have attended them. RegenerateBC is a non-profit, volunteer organization that has partnered with 11 public libraries in BC to deliver 30 Climate Solutions workshops to libraries in courses ranging 1 hour to day-long and multi-day sessions. Public libraries are an ideal forum for climate collaboration and building community and creating climate action.
